Windows Phone 7 App Development

Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 Series is being touted as a different kind of mobile experience. Even with major advancements to the platform and hardware, the real power of the phone will come from the apps.

Building on the Microsoft Silverlight platform, the phone will be able to accomodate rich multimedia experiences. Games can also be created through Microsoft's XNA Studio product. Not only are mobile apps a potential profit center, but they can also increase awareness for your brand or strengthen existing customer relationships.

At 352 Media Group, we are on the cutting edge of Windows Phone 7 application development, and even created some of the demo apps used by Microsoft during the launch of the phone. Using our Microsoft Silverlight development experience, we created an app that leverages the phone's accelorameter to drive a mini tank called the Coding4Fun Cannon across the stage at Microsoft's annual MIX Web developer conference. Using the driving interface we designed, keynote presenter and Microsoft executive Scott Guthrie was able to fire high-signature red polo shirts from the tank's cannon.

Another example of our mobile app development was shown during the event's day two keynote. We created an app that pulls movie data from Netflix through an oData feed, allowing users to search for movies and even add them to their queue. Examples of both apps are shown below.
