Founded in 1949, the Art Institute focuses on preparing students with a career-focused education in creative professional studies. With its five-story, 115,000-square-foot facility in Atlanta, GA, the school is home to more than 2,600 students. While three-fourths of the students are Georgia natives, the other quarter represents 42 states and 33 countries.
Web Design Curriculum The school’s rigorous curriculum includes a foundation in the arts, general education classes, and technical courses in the student’s specific field. The administration reviews each program of study regularly to ensure the curriculum stays current with the demands of the changing business world. Day or evening classes are available for students in most areas of study. For those students with busy schedules, the Personal Track program allows students to earn credits on a part-time basis.

The Atlanta Art Institute Overview Current areas of study for Web developers include digital media production, graphic design, interactive media design, and media arts. Most curriculium include some concentration on Web development techniques and software. By the end of the program, students will also have compiled a portfolio to show prospective employers in the Web development fields.
The current student-to-faculty ratio is 16:1, and the school is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The Art Institute offers a bachelor’s of arts, fine arts, and science as well as an associates of arts. Majors in the bachelor’s of fine arts program include digital media production and interactive media design.
As of 2005, 81% of all graduates were working in a field related to their studies within six months. The average salary started at $30, 115.
